Richard joined the team in 2020 as the firm's financial manager. He is responsible for N&A’s own financial accounts including accounts receivable and our case invoicing. In addition, he is responsible for the day-to-day workings of the office. Prior to coming to N&A, Richard worked as Finance Manager for various Seattle institutions, including Hugo House and the Social Justice Fund Northwest.
In his other life, Richard is the author of You Private Person (Sorry House Classics, 2017), and the novel King of Joy (Soft Skull, 2019), which was long-listed for the 2020 PEN Open Book Award. He was named a 2019 "Writer to Watch" by the Los Angeles Times. He has taught fiction at Hugo House, Catapult, and the University of Washington in Bothell. He currently lives in Seattle.
Richard was in the Writing and Literature program at UC San Diego from 2010 through 2015.
